FAKTS ONE – Long Range – 2008 – Album review rant

FAKTS ONE – Long Range – 2008 – Album review rant
HIGHLIGHTS: Grown Folks feat. Little Brother - The Showstarter feat. Perceptionists
SOUNDBITE: N/A
RATING: N/A

An open message to Greenstreets Entertainment. If you want people to review a record, you might find they can actually be arsed to do it if you send out a proper copy instead of one which has booming over every track, three times a track, in a stupid ‘voiceover-man’ voice the following: “Fakts One. This is a promo only. Fakts One. This is a promo only.” Trying to listen to it was a bit like trying to watch a promising film where the screen randomly goes black so that some fool can burble utter shit for a few seconds while your concentration and enjoyment is thoroughly ruined. How fucking tight do you want to be? “We’re going to make shitloads off this LP but we can’t be arsed to let the reviewer have a copy for their troubles.” Well, guess what – I didn’t review it. Yeah. Have that. Still you stopped all those pirates and illegal file sharers didn’t you? Like fuck. I bet I could find it in about five minutes if I gave a shit. And do you know what the worst thing is – it sounded like it was probably quite good. I feel sorry for poor old Fakts One. Screwed by his last record company; Long Range buried for a few years...I’m not surprised he left the industry and went awol. He was under-appreciated. I know how he feels. Why don’t you delay the release again. Oh. You already did for the UK at least.

P.S. I feel I should point out for the benefit of readers not responsible for Greenstreets utter lack of manners that incidentally, The Showstarter track (which was miraculously unsullied by the inane interpolations of voiceover man) and which features fellow Perceptionists Mr Lif and Akrobatik is a proper hard-hitter that could well have featured on Black Dialogue and Little Brother prove on Grown Folks that they're (once again) better when someone else does the beats. Word.
Released 25 Aug. 2008.
