MARK RONSON feat. Amy Winehouse – Valerie – 2007 – Single review

The only track off Ronseal’s album that really does what it said on the tin i.e. take a well-known pop song and re-imagine it as a Stax or Motown hit, largely because Amy Wino-house is the only singer on the album with a voice that sounds like a sixties soul singer. Shame it doesn’t have a decent breakbeat. And another thing. I don’t give a shit how many times they’ve worked with Amy Winehouse - The Dap Kings are the Daptone Records house band and Sharon Jones’s backing band.
